| OK so this is it! This is the fractal footage that I intend to use for my next fractal project! What you are seeing is unedited footage. The footage runs about 18,000 frames. Each original frame is 1920 by 1080 pixels although you will be watching it compressed and at 720 by 486 pixels. The frames were generated by a set of equations which I am still debating on whether or not to release to the public. On my Mac Pro using all four 2.66Ghz Intel Xeon cores and running 24 hours a day it took about 5 days to generate all 18,000 frames.
I found this footage after months of searching different equations and this footage particularly struck me for several reasons. First it was much easier to calculate than many other fractal equations. Second it seemed unique from the very typical Mandelbrot color banded type of fractal. But mostly because I find that it has a an eerie effect on the eye very similar to several types of optical illusions. I hope you enjoy this look inside the artistic process, feel free to leave comments! |
